$ 100 million stolen in Crypto

Hackers have managed to steal $ 100 million in cryptocurrencies from Horizon, a so-called blockchain bridge that allows people to exchange currencies between different chains of the network.

Details of the attack are still scarce, but Harmony, the blockchain bridge behind Horizon, said they identified the theft Wednesday morning. Harmony singled out an individual account he believes is the culprit.

"We have begun working with national authorities and forensic specialists to identify the culprit and withdraw the stolen funds," the start-up said in a Twitter post.

Blockchain bridges play a major role in the DeFi space, offering users a way to transfer their assets from one blockchain to another. In the case of Horizon, users can send tokens from the Ethereum network to the Binance Smart Chain.
