Mimoza Ahmeti and the screen have always had a tension between them. A kind of distance, not pure rejection, but not a quiet approach either. She has pushed it, avoided it, put it to the test and, perhaps for the first time, today she seems at peace with it.
Mimoza Ahmeti has been here for many years, but now we are getting to know her well.
Some followers have asked me: How is it possible that you didn't invite him for a conversation on the "ZëmeMirën Podcast"?
More than three times, that is.
The first time he said to me kindly: "Okay, let the heat pass. I have too much heat to talk."
The second time: "I don't want to appear on screen anymore."
While the third time she no longer wanted to talk about life, but only recite her poems.
As you can see, I didn't hit the mark every day. But in all cases I invited him with the conviction that it would be one of those podcasts full of originality and a rich world. As well as respecting his humor or the rhythm of life.
These days I'm seeing Moza, like everyone else, on my phone screen, and she did very well to say "yes". There is no better way today to get to know and understand than the media. Even though Moza doesn't want to be understood. She doesn't expect confirmation. She knows how to be!
Moza Ahmeti has written books, poems, painted, rebelled, but she has never received this kind of love in chorus, which comes from the ease of simply being a Human. But on one condition: appearing on screen.
Therefore, cultivated people like her should not retreat, but come out. Because this country is too small to seriously deal with the void.
Moza killed screen banality without a loud voice, without forced seriousness, without imposition. Simply by saying "yes" to a media invitation.
The media has many flaws. But without it, we wouldn't be ventilating our thoughts today with Moza's jokes and questions.
There's a reason why everyone is gravitating towards Moza Ahmeti.
She's everyone's alter ego. The richness of thought and the directness that's missing around here, but with knowledge and finesse. She's getting love because she's not looking for love. She's just "letting it be"
I hope she doesn't get tired and sees it through to the end. Because I heard her say at the Fier Library a while ago that she was going in for a sick person and maybe even for a dream of her own.
