The Albanian-American community has received an important recognition, as "Little Albania" in the Bronx has been officially included in the map of New York City's immigrant community neighborhoods.

The map, published by city authorities, includes 30 neighborhoods in New York's five boroughs, known for their historic immigrant communities and the role they have played in shaping the city's cultural identity.

For decades, "Little Albania" has served as the heart of the Albanian-American community, bringing together families from Albania, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and the Presevo Valley.

The neighborhood is known for its restaurants, bakeries, cafes, Albanian-owned businesses, as well as cultural organizations and community activities that have helped preserve the Albanian language, traditions, and cultural heritage for generations.

Its inclusion on the city's official map is considered an appreciation of the lasting contribution that the Albanian community has made to New York and its multicultural character.

This map also includes other well-known immigrant community neighborhoods, such as Koreatown, Chinatown, Little Ukraine, Little Guyana, Little Pakistan, and Little Yemen.
