Vikena Kamenica, for the first time as a director, with "Misa a Buenos

A work that does not usually come to the stage of the National Opera and Ballet Theater, which delicately combines Catholic liturgical (sacred) music with the sensual sounds of Argentine tango. It is otherwise known as a "tango mass".

Martin Palmer's "Misa a Buenos Aires", unique in its kind, has electrified audiences on many stages around the world, and why not now also in Tirana.

A work that, if it were not such, would hardly have tempted Vikena Kamenica to choose it, to bring it to the stage, for the first time, in the role of director.

The directorial concept of Kamenica, the artist who has brought a unique artistic style to each of her projects and presentations, is expected to bring an approach to "drive", where sound and movement will merge into a single artistic language. Where dancers will dance on stage as an extension of the music... to involve us in a spiritual journey, in an artistic experience, lacking in its kind here in Tirana.

Martin Palmer's "Misa a Buenos Aires" will be performed on the TKOBAP stage on April 24-25. Directed by Vikena Kamenica, conducted by Sergio Alapont, choreographed by Enada Hoxha and costumed by Ardi Asllani, the work will bring together the TKOBAP String Orchestra & Ballet Troupe, in collaboration with the Kosovo Philharmonic Choir.

In the announcements that the theater has started publishing, it is said that Kamenica will also be in the role of the performer. What will be a surprise element, conceived with great artistic wisdom... which we are expected to discover only when we are sitting there, in front of the stage where the sounds and movements of the "tango mass" begin to include us in its magic.
