This year, businesses got 10% of their turnover from online sales

Today's INSTAT data shows that this year 28.0% of enterprises with over 10 employees have sold products/services via websites, dedicated applications, e-commerce websites and applications used by various enterprises for product trade, marking an increase of 3.5%, compared to 2024.
The largest share of e-commerce is occupied by enterprises operating in the field of Accommodation and Food Services with 48.2%, followed by Professional, Scientific and Technical activities with 44.8% and Information and Communication activities with 43.3%.
During 2025, the value of turnover generated from online sales amounted to 10.1%, an increase of 0.6% compared to 2024.
The largest share of the realized turnover is occupied by enterprises operating in the field of wholesale and retail trade with 46.1% and information and communication activities with 16.5%.
Social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, etc.) is used by 86.5% of enterprises that use a computer with internet access, up from 83.1% in 2024.
In 2025, cloud services, which refer to services used on the internet to access computer programs, storage capacities, etc., were used by 33.8% of enterprises that have access to the internet.
Compared to 2024, the use of cloud services in enterprises that have access to the internet has increased by 3.8%.
Enterprises with 10 or more employees that used a computer with internet access for work purposes during 2025 represent 99.4% of enterprises, up from 99.3% in 2024.
During 2025, the percentage of enterprises that have specialists in the field of information and communication technology is 31.8%, up from 29.7% in 2024. The highest percentage of employees using a computer with internet access is observed in the Information and Communication activity with 79.7%, followed by Professional, Scientific and Technical activities with 70.3% and Administrative and Support Services with 65.4%.
In 2025, enterprises with 250+ employees use 100% computers with internet access.
In 2025, 100% of enterprises used fixed internet connections, which include connections of the type ADSL, SDSL, VDSL, fiber optic (FTTP), cable technology, etc. from 99.3% that resulted in 2024.
The percentage of enterprises that had an information download speed higher than 30 Mbit/s is 91.8%, up from 88.8% in 2024, while the percentage of enterprises that had an information download speed above 100 Mbit/s is 50.4%, up from 40.9% in 2024.
The website is used by 61.0% of enterprises using a computer with internet access, up from 57.7% in 2024.
