Vatican writes about sexual relations: They strengthen the couple and are not only used to have children

The Vatican has published a new doctrinal document that underlines that sexuality within marriage is an important dimension of the conjugal relationship and that its role is not limited to reproduction.
In its official position, the Holy See values monogamy and the stable bond between spouses, emphasizing that intimate relationships serve as an expression of love and unity. The document emphasizes that the sexual act must “remain open to the possibility of creating life,” but clarifies that this does not mean that every intimate relationship must have the goal of bringing a child into existence.
This formulation is seen as an important clarification of the Church's position on the role of sexuality in marriage and how it relates to family life, love, and the responsibility of spouses.
