Did isolation make me a better father?

Did isolation make me a better father?

I don’t remember exactly the first time I saw the words “school from home”. I am not a lazy parent. I like spending time with my 2 and 5 year old. But until then, my only job with them has been to take them to the park.

I had to work from home with my wife. Everything closed. I got bored while my wife didn’t. I immediately realized that now that we were both home, we would share the responsibility for the children more than equality. I mean, I would be the main responsibility, since the woman would also do the cooking.

I made the discovery that our TV - which we have been buying for three years - has a YouTube Kids installed program.

After staying on YouTube, I helped my 5-year-old son with homework, especially math. I remembered things I had forgotten I knew.

I don’t think I’m an excellent teacher, but I think we did well and survived the isolation.

Blocking may have been quite traumatic for the kids, but I think they had fun too. I did my part to make this possible.

I think that isolation is more difficult than normal, especially for children. With enclosed gaming spaces in England and difficult distance rules to enforce.

Would I do it again? I am disciplining the grandparents of the children to come for the summer holidays and take care of them, as most things will continue to be closed.

It all taught me that I could stay without the phone and that I could have fun with car games.
