The Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) has secured first place in the extraordinary parliamentary elections in 24 municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo. Its victory extends to a large number of urban and rural centers, including Pristina, Prizren, Peja, Ferizaj, Gjilan, Gjakova, Mitrovica, Podujevo, Vushtrri, Fushë Kosovë, Suhareka, Rahovec, Lipjan, Klina, Malisheva, Shtime, Istog, Dragash, Obiliq, Viti, Kaçanik, Kamenica, Hani i Elezit and Junik.
According to data published by the Central Election Commission, LVV has failed to emerge as the leading force only in Skenderaj, Drenas and Deçan, while in all other municipalities with an Albanian majority it has led the electoral race against rival parties.
On the other hand, the Serbian List has maintained its lead in all municipalities with a Serb majority, confirming its traditional dominance in these areas.
Preliminary results show widespread support for the Vetëvendosje Movement at the national level, while official confirmation of the results is expected after the completion of all legal procedures by the CEC.
