Last night's meeting between the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, the American envoy, Gabriel Escobar, and the EU envoy, Miroslav Lajçak, lasted almost three hours.

The focus was on the situation in the North of Kosovo.

After the meeting, the EU envoy presented three demands to Kurti:

- The calming of the situation in the north of Kosovo

- Holding new elections

- The return to dialogue

And Escobar said:

"I have never seen so much unity within the trans-Atlantic community. The USA, EU, NATO and almost every friend of Kosovo has made the same proposal. So I hope we will be heard".

Meanwhile, in the announcement of the Prime Minister's Office, it is written that in the meeting opinions were exchanged on the latest developments and ideas for de-escalation of the situation in the north.

"The Prime Minister said that the way forward is to immediately stop attacks by violent extremists and criminal groups against local and international security bodies and journalists. He invited Brussels and Washington to call for the cessation of violence and the prosecution and punishment of its perpetrators", the announcement reads.

The meetings continue today. Lajçak and Escobar will meet with Vjosa Osmani.
