The dynamics of the incident that occurred yesterday in Fier, where mother and son, Suzana and Hysen Mernica, were injured, have been revealed. According to official police information, Afrim and Ali Cimili fired a gun at them, but no one was injured in the shooting.
After firing a gun, the perpetrators crashed their car into the motorcycle carrying the mother and son. As a result of the impact of the motorcycle, Suzana and Hysen were injured. They were taken to the hospital and are in the care of doctors and are out of danger. Meanwhile, one of the perpetrators, 66-year-old Afrim Cimili, has been arrested. His son, 23-year-old Ali Cimili, is still being sought.
The investigative actions revealed that the incident was the result of a previous conflict between Hysen Mernica and Ali Cimili.

No citizens were injured in the shooting. It was previously suspected that citizen SM was injured by gunfire, but forensic expertise showed that the 2 citizens (mother and son) were injured when the vehicle they were traveling in was hit by the vehicle driven by the wanted citizen.
Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Crimes Against the Person, immediately after the incident that occurred on 09.04.2025, at the overpass of the village of Dërmenas, where citizens AC, 66 years old and AC, 23 years old, father and son, both residents of this village, injured citizens HM, 26 years old and SM, 50 years old, mother and son, both residents of the village of Sulaj, have organized the work to bring the perpetrators to criminal responsibility and to clarify the circumstances of the case.
As a result of quick and professional investigative actions, the dynamics of the case were clarified, and the 66-year-old man was arrested and put in handcuffs.
From these actions, it is suspected that citizens AC and AC, due to a previous conflict between the 23-year-old and the 26-year-old, fired a gun at the motorcycle in which citizens HM and SM were traveling. No citizens were injured from the shooting. Then, the 23-year-old hit the motorcycle with the vehicle he was traveling in and left the scene, together with his father. As a result of the impact of the motorcycle, citizens HM and SM were injured, who are under the care of doctors and out of danger to their lives.
At the scene, shell casings and evidence were seized that will serve as evidence in the investigation into this incident. Also, one of the vehicles used by the perpetrators and 3 cell phones were seized.
The search for the 23-year-old continues.
The procedural materials were referred to the Fier Prosecution Office for further action, for the criminal offenses of "Premeditated Murder", attempted, committed in collaboration, and "Unlicensed Production and Possession of Weapons, Explosive Weapons and Combat Ammunition".
