China introduces robot that washes clothes, cooks and cares for the elderly

China is entering a new era of technology, where humanoid robots could become part of everyday family life.
Chinese company GigaAI has unveiled the “SeeLight S1,” the first humanoid robot designed for household chores. In demonstration videos, the robot is seen chopping vegetables, frying eggs, putting clothes in the washing machine, making the bed, and opening the curtains.
According to the company, the robot will be tested for free in households in Wuhan starting in 2027, especially in homes where there are elderly people, children or pets.

The SeeLight S1 uses artificial intelligence to understand tasks and plan actions on its own, unlike industrial robots that follow fixed programs.
Experts say that the biggest challenge remains adapting to different home environments, as every family has different conditions and routines.
Meanwhile, the global market for home robots is growing rapidly and is expected to reach record levels in the coming years.
