Gen Z's quirky accessories are making a name for themselves in fashion

Although it is often criticized that people are going back in time by using things from their childhood – like Disney or Harry Potter fans – it is not just millennials who are doing this. Generation Z (today's young people) are bringing accessories with a nostalgic spirit and connected to childhood memories into fashion.

Initially, small decorations that hung from bags began to spread — cherry shapes, Sailor Moon stars, hearts, and ribbons. Then, boho and indie style returned with scarves, chains, and sweaters hanging from bags.

Now, the newest trend is "emotional accessories": small, strange, even slightly scary toys that are hung on bags or used as jewelry.

The most famous example? A toy called Labubu – a creature with a devilish smile that has taken fashion by storm. It has been seen on the bags of Rihanna, Dua Lipa and many other celebrities. Its popularity is so great that it has become the best-selling toy on platforms like StockX.

Essentially, this trend demonstrates a simple truth: in a world where everyone has access to the same ideas, people – especially young people – seek to look different, even through a small toy hanging from their bag.
