After 30 years of occupying the building, Kindergarten 37 in Unit 10 is almost ready and will soon welcome the little ones in better conditions. The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who closely inspected the recent works in this garden, said that the encroachments that hinder the future of the children and the future of the city are not justified.
"We will also do the last jobs with cleaning, small installations, furnishing, and at the end of August the registrations will be opened for the children of the residents, who are on the border between Unit 10 and Unit 7. This kindergarten has been occupied, so I have a call: The occupation of kindergartens, schools and nurseries is not justified, it is something that must be a thing of the past. I'm glad that we freed up the last space, and with the damage that occurred after the earthquake some buildings were totally deformed, we had the opportunity to make a new building. I am asking the community to preserve these buildings. At the moment we free them, these spaces will remain for the citizens, but especially for the small citizens, the children", underlined Veliaj.
"The opening of 7 new kindergartens and nurseries brings us to over 100. We really boast of 42-43 new schools, but we have reconstructed or built over 100 kindergartens and nurseries. We have made a revolution because we are probably the most well-served city when it comes to children. They may indeed be 20% of the population, but they are 100% the future of the city", added Veliaj.
In the end, the head of the Municipality made an invitation to the parents, when he said that at the end of August they will be able to register their children in the new kindergarten in Unit 10.
