The new school year will find the students of the "Avni Rustemi" school with new and contemporary spaces. During the last inspection, before closing the reconstruction of the school, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that two-shift teaching belongs to the past.
"This school will be a gem for Unit 10, which has produced most of Tirana's basketball players. It was built in 1960 and has undergone two shifts, due to the fact that the city has grown, the neighborhood has also grown, but the capacity of the school has not increased. We used the old gym to add 4 classrooms. This means that from this year, students will learn in one shift", said Veliaj.
He stated that in addition to "Avni Rustemi", several other schools will be opened at the beginning of the new school year. "We will also open the schools 'Musine Kokalari', 'Jezmi Delli', and 'Emin Duraku', which we finished towards the end of the semester, but now we are officially opening them at full capacity. We will work with some new schools in the center of Tirana, such as 'Edith Durham' and 'Petro Nini'", he declared.
The Mayor said that he has decided not to deal with swearers and tire burners, but only with work to move forward. Veliaj added that 7 new kindergartens and nurseries will be opened for the city's children.
