"Emin Duraku" is the newest school built in Tirana, which will welcome 1300 students in the new school year. The project financed by the European Union and UNDP, thanks to the "EU4Schools" Program, brings the best standards of educational and security infrastructure, as well as sufficient spaces that can be used by children outside of school hours. Present at the inauguration of the school were the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, the head of the Political Section at the EU Delegation, Andre Rizzo, the Permanent Representative of UNDP, Monica Merino , the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, Delina Ibrahimaj, and representatives of central and local institutions, students, teachers, etc.

Mayor Veliaj thanked the European Union and UNDP for financing the construction of the school, stating that with its completion, a new story begins for the community of Unit 5. "Today we open a new page for the wonderful chunas and oysters of the area of the former The block because this is a school in the heart of Unit 5. He emphasized that the Municipality of Tirana, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports, is expected to implement another package of 10 new schools, mainly in the outskirts of the capital, to finally solve the issue of education in Tirana. "This is our 42nd school in total, but the 7th that we do with the EU and UNDP. "Xezmi Dielli" has finished, "Myslym Keta" has finished, "Musine Kokalari" has finished and from 42 we will go to 45 new schools in Tirana. The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, described the reconstruction of the "Emin Duraku" school as a complex project, which was carried out with all the necessary conditions and infrastructure, which the students and teachers deserve, in order to ensure the smooth running of the educational process. She thanked the Municipality of Tirana and other partners for the work done in the realization of the project. "We are focused on improving the school infrastructure and aim to finalize around 100 educational facilities and sports grounds this year, as well as open construction sites for 40 new schools, which are supported by the Ministry of Education and Sports, with the funds of the Albanian government . The goal is for all schools to operate only in the morning hours, serving after-school programs in the afternoon.
