With the new bridge, Zall Bastari is closer to Tirana, a distance that is shortened to 15 minutes. In the inauguration of the investment for the residents, the mayor Erion Veliaj said that today Zall Bastari is part of the map of urbanized areas. He invited all citizens to visit it, while emphasizing that this area is added to the destinations that foreign tourists visit in Tirana.
"When there is cooperation, when we don't get in each other's way, we can do wonderful things. Now that I'm here for 15 minutes I have an invitation for everyone: Come to Zall Bastar! Tirana is full of tourists, but after they have come to the center, they also want to see the nature of our streets. Now that we have the infrastructure, when Zall Bastari is only 15 minutes away from Tirana, we need to promote the area. We made the infrastructure, now we have to bring the people. By bringing people, tourism, promotion, comes the economy, finances and expenses", said Veliaj.
He said that work is done with the same standard both in the center and in the suburbs, while mocking the opposition representatives who burn tires in the middle of the city.
"Whether you are in Block, whether you are in Zall Bastar, we work with the same quality. I look at those who burn tires and haven't paid their water, lights and taxes for eight months, but I also look at modest families in Zall Bastar who don't go a day without paying, as much as the contribution is, because that's how it works, everyone has to contribute and then, with this contribution, the municipality should distribute it, so that there is well-being everywhere. To shout loudly and deny the taxes, while the taxes are modest and are paid 100% in Zall Bastar and to go out like a rooster on manure and have eight months without paying water and electricity and taxes, this is a great shame" , said Veliaj.
The mayor emphasized that the infrastructural transformation of Zall Bastar will lead to the development of the area in its economic aspect, underlining that it is only a matter of time for this area to benefit from the material benefits of Tirana.
"We will not wait for another election to make inaugurations. What is to be done, what is word to be kept and work to be done, we will do when the time is right. Now that we have also passed the Vilëza road project, which is the last necessary connection for Zall Bastar, we are in a better situation from the logistical point of view. More and more people in Tirana or foreigners are looking for properties in the countryside, they are retiring in the countryside, they are spending their old age in the countryside. It is only a matter of time before Zall Bastari also benefits from these material goods of Tirana", declared Veliaj.
