Public transport in Tirana, citizens can track buses in real time

Citizens who use public transportation in Tirana will now be able to track bus lines in the capital in real time via Google Maps.
This innovation not only helps local citizens, but also tourists who have chosen to visit Albania.
This project was implemented by GIZ Albania and the Municipality of Tirana with the support of Albanian Technology Distribution (ATD). GTFS-RT (Real-Time General Transit Feed Specification) has been successfully integrated into Google Maps. This innovation will not only improve trip planning and accurate bus arrival times for thousands of daily passengers, but will also be used for service quality management, helping to optimize public transport operations.
Giz Albania is working with Albanian partners to bring real-time information to passengers and for more public transport improvements across the country.
