Man kills 12 people in Montenegro, then himself. Three days of national mourning

Twelve people, including two children, were killed and four others were injured in Cetinje, Montenegro.

The perpetrator of the multiple crimes, Aco Martinović, committed suicide.

The murders occurred in five different locations and the motive remains unclear.

Among the victims were Martinović's friends and godmother.

Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajic described the incident as a terrible tragedy and warned of stricter gun ownership regulations.

"We will consider a complete ban on the possession of weapons," Spajic said.

The government of Montenegro has declared three days of mourning, on January 2, 3 and 4.

New Year's Eve concerts have been canceled in Podgorica, Budva and Kotor.
