The Greeks buffer the Albanians even if they have the tests with them: The turn

Albanian citizens crossing the Greek border will have to do a buffer again, even though they have done it before and show it at the counter. This decision is said to apply only to the Kakavija border crossing point and not to Kapshtica, as the influx to Kakavija is higher.

The reasons for this decision are not known, but according to the media, the Greek authorities say that this is a new rule, and anyone who passes will have to have a buffer regardless of whether he has the answer to the analysis with him. The receipt of the buffer has created today an influx of passengers, while from the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs there is still no announcement regarding this new order that has started the implementation of 48 hours.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a notice 5 days ago, on August 29, which does not mention the buffering by the Greek authorities, but passengers must have with them the test performed 72 hours before the arrival of the border crossing point.

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs announces the regime of movement from Albania to the Greek state for the period 1 - 15 September 2020, in the framework of measures against Covid-19, as follows:

- For another 14 days, from 1-15 September 2020, the entry restriction for Albanian citizens for tourism reasons remains in force;
- Restriction of sea and air connections with Albania and Northern Macedonia remains in force. Thus, flights to / from these countries are made only from the airport "Eleftherios Venizelos";
- The limit on the number of persons entering the Kakavija BCP (750 people) and Kapshtica (300 people) per day remains in force;
- The application of preliminary controls remains valid until 19.09.2020 through the negative PCR test 72 hours before arrival in the country, for persons arriving at the airport and from land points from Albania.
