Important announcement for Albanians in Greece waiting to withdraw their passports

For the applications that will be made at the Embassy of Athens from today, the way of declaring the residential address has changed. The Albanian Embassy in Athens notifies the citizens residing outside the prefecture of Attica who wish to be sent by mail the biometric document, to fill in at the end of the application a responsible statement with the correct data of the apartment. This according to the embassy to avoid abusive emails. Meanwhile, those who have started applications at the e-mail, have the right to authorize a third person through declarations of responsibility, free of charge, at KEP, to physically withdraw passports at distribution counters.

EXPLANATION ABOUT BIOMETRIC PASSPORT WITHDRAWALS THROUGH POSTAL SERVICE
Following our communications regarding the withdrawal of biometric passports through the postal service, we would like to inform you that for the applications that will be made at the Embassy of Athens from today, September 21, 2020, the way of declaring the address of residence. Citizens residing outside the Attica prefecture who wish to have their biometric document mailed to them will complete a declaration of responsibility at the end of the application with accurate housing details. This way avoids abusive emails in terms of content and purpose, as there are many cases where there are deficiencies in the correct address data, but also intentional practices of wrongdoers who seek to benefit from this situation.
Our compatriots who have sent their requests to our e-mail, [email protected], until September 20, 2020, have the right to authorize a third person through responsible statements, free of charge , at KEP (Citizen Service Centers), to physically withdraw their passports at distribution counters.
The above was undertaken to improve the service to our citizens and increase security in the distribution of biometric documents.
