For Albanians trapped in Croatia: They will not be penalized, but where should

For days, the Foreign Ministry has issued important notices to Albanian citizens who have been trapped in EU countries and beyond because of the coronavirus.

Today's announcement focuses on Albanians in Croatia. They will not be penalized even if they have exceeded the period allowed to stay in the Schengen area, but they should only contact the Croatian Police District to inform them of the impossibility of return to Albania, to avoid problems caused at border crossings.

???? The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs informs all Albanian citizens who are in Croatia and are forced to exceed the permitted period of stay in the Schengen area due to the Covid-19 situation, that they will not be penalized.

???? However, Croatian authorities instruct foreign nationals to contact (only) by telephone the Police District, in their area of residence, to inform them of the inability to leave Croatian territory. This will avoid potential problems at border points when foreign nationals return to their home countries.
