Ralph Lauren's escape to Jamaica, where he found paradise

It was the winter of 1978 when Ralph and Ricky Lauren decided to leave New York for Jamaica. They were looking for a break, but they found much more: a land where light seems to melt into the air and every detail becomes part of a slower pace.

In Round Hill, amidst the remains of an old pineapple plantation by the sea, High Rock, their first Jamaican home, was born. Ralph transformed it into a haven of thatched walls, hand-polished mahogany, and banana leaf rugs.

Fifteen years later they built White Orchid, a white villa between the jungle and the ocean. White marble floors, linen fabrics and deep blue shades: everything is designed to make room for the landscape, for tranquility, for time to flow slowly.

The Lauren family's homes in Jamaica are not just vacation villas, but havens built with the same care with which an idea of life is drawn.
