Ismail Kadare, the genius of Albanian letters, now has a permanent presence in one of his most beloved places in Tirana.
Exactly where he stopped every day for his coffee and where he met friends, readers, and admirers, the statue that immortalizes the writer has been placed.
The idea was born from actor Timo Flloko and became a reality thanks to the support of friends of the Kadare family. The sculpture, cast in bronze, bears the signature of artist Henri Nimami and brings Kadare to human size.
Kadare would have turned 90 today!
