The first State Matura 2026 exam, the Foreign Language exam, was held today across the country under normal conditions and without any reported incidents.
Unlike previous years, when the process was often accompanied by denunciations and premature publication of theses on social media, this year no cases of test leaks have been reported. A development that is seen as a positive step towards strengthening the security and integrity of national exams.
The educational authorities had previously announced strict control measures, increased monitoring, and zero-tolerance implementation of the 2026 State Matura regulation. According to official announcements, the process took place in dozens of exam centers across the country, under the supervision of responsible structures.
For the first time under the leadership of the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, the Matura exam has passed without being accompanied by news about the publication of the thesis, a phenomenon that over the years has raised serious concerns about the credibility of the process.
According to the calendar, the 2026 State Matura continues on June 9 with Albanian Language and Literature, on June 16 with Mathematics, and on June 23 with the elective exam.
