"Today, we have a total of 932 certified guides, of which 112 are speciality guides, 691 are national tourist guides and 120 are local guides. All this staff, which has increased almost eight times in the last four years, shows that there is a very interesting market that has generated employment and activities for the economic chain," said Minister Kumbaro.

Such a decision, according to Minister Kumbaro, creates a more attractive environment for young people who want to build a career in tourism and promote the values of nature, ecotourism and tourism in protected areas.
"From two, the term of the guides' certificates was increased to 5 years and at this point where we are talking about the industry, it makes no sense for guides to go through the bureaucracy to renew their certificates. They no longer need to renew their certificates periodically. This has been a request of the sector. Today we crown the awarding of 700 certificates without a term that you have deserved thanks to your work."
