Berati runs with the world! Green Half Marathon breaks participation record

Berat returned this weekend to the capital of sports and positive energy, with the fourth edition of the Green Half Marathon, an activity that is becoming a tradition and that every year attracts more and more participants from all over the world.
Over 800 runners from more than 50 countries competed in the 10 and 21 kilometer distances, traversing the characteristic streets and unique panorama of the city from one window to another.
The activity, organized by the Municipality of Berat, brought not only a sports competition, but also a festive atmosphere for citizens and visitors.
In the international 21 kilometer race for men, Raphael Garechu Karita triumphed, while in the women's category, Valentine Jebet was declared the winner. In the 10 kilometer distance for men, Albert Kipkorir Tonui won, while for women, Loise Wambui Kiarie won.
In the national categories, for 21 kilometers, the first place for men was taken by Zoi Dhimertika, while for women Kristina Pura. In the +65 category, in the 10 kilometers for men, Elmi Gegaj was declared the winner, while in the 21 kilometers Gazmend Shehu. The award for the youngest runner was given to Ibrahim Sula, while the award for the oldest went to Sotir Qirjaqi.
The Green Half Marathon is consolidating itself as one of the most important sporting events in the country, promoting not only a healthy lifestyle, but also tourism and the image of Berat in the international arena.
