FIFA fines the Albanian Football Association (AFSH) for the Albania-Serbia match

The Albanian Football Federation announces that it has been officially notified by FIFA of a disciplinary decision regarding the Albania-Serbia match that took place on June 7, 2025 at the "Air Albania" stadium.
According to FIFA's decision, the Albanian Football Association is fined 161,500 Swiss francs and ordered to play its next home match against Latvia with at least 20% of the stadium's capacity closed to the public.
"This penalty comes as a result of repeated inappropriate and discriminatory behavior by some Albanian fans, including: songs with discriminatory content, throwing objects, lighting fireworks, using gestures and messages inappropriate for a sporting event, as well as interruptions during the performance of national anthems," the Albanian Football Association announced.
The Federation considers this decision a serious penalty for the entire football community, which harms not only the institution, but above all the Albanian National Team.
In its response, the Albanian Football Association calls on all red and black fans to avoid any action that could harm the team, to respect international rules and to contribute to a dignified atmosphere in support of Albania.
