BALFIN Group and Flying Tiger Copenhagen, in a strategic partnership to expand

Tirana, Albania. BALFIN Group, one of the most successful investment groups, and Flying Tiger Copenhagen, the Danish brand known globally for its modern and unique items, have launched a strategic partnership that foresees the opening of 50 stores across the Western Balkans within a four-year period.

The agreement reinforces the BALFIN Group's commitment to bringing international brands, innovation and high standards to the region, while for Flying Tiger Copenhagen it consolidates efforts to expand its activity in Southeastern Europe.

The first store is expected to open in October this year in Skopje, North Macedonia , and will be followed by the opening of other stores in Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro.

“Based on our strong presence in Europe and the successful entry into Turkey in October 2024, expanding into the Western Balkans is a natural decision. The strong demand for international brands and the enthusiasm for creative and affordable products in this region perfectly align with the Flying Tiger Copenhagen concept. We are very pleased to be entering this part of Europe and look forward to engaging with customers in the Western Balkans as soon as possible,” said Julius Schmidt, Regional Director for India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) at Flying Tiger Copenhagen.

Steven Grunerud, Vice President for Strategy Development at BALFIN Group, described the partnership as a powerful union of shared values and strategic visions.

“As a leader in the retail sector in Southeastern Europe, BALFIN Group serves as a gateway for leading international brands looking to enter this vibrant and fast-growing market. Our collaboration with Flying Tiger Copenhagen is a testament to our belief in long-term partnerships that bring value and quality to our customers.”

Beyond the commercial dimensions, the partnership is expected to bring significant socio-economic value to the region. Around 400 new jobs are expected to be created across five countries, with a focus on local operational roles that directly contribute to economic empowerment and workforce development.

Together, BALFIN Group and Flying Tiger Copenhagen are laying the foundation for a modern, accessible and engaging retail experience that resonates with consumers and enhances local communities, setting a standard for international partnerships in the Western Balkans.
