Popular artificial intelligence platform ChatGPT is set to offer a wider range of content, including erotic content, to adult users who have verified their age. The news was confirmed by the company's CEO, Sam Altman, who said the change is part of a strategy to "treat adult users as such."
In a post on the X platform on Tuesday, Altman explained that future versions of ChatGPT will behave in a more “human” way — only if the user wants it to, not to increase usage at all costs.
He added that the age verification system will be significantly expanded in December, paving the way for these changes. However, attorney Jenny Kim of the law firm Boies Schiller Flexner raised doubts about the effectiveness of this system, stating: “We still have no guarantee that the age check will work properly.”
Kim is also involved in a lawsuit against Meta Platforms, which claims that Instagram's algorithm harms the mental health of teenagers.
