Season 6 began with The Era of Anagnosts! I always wanted to interview the genius of Albanian cinema, Dhimitër Anagnost. But when I grew up professionally, it was too late.
At the beginning of this Autumn, Anagnosti "decided to flee" forever to Vuno, to rest in peace. In the tribute photos, I saw his daughter, Era, and I thought... what if?????
So I decided to write an email to Era, whom – don't ask me why – I had fixed in my memory since I was 12. I remembered her as a special character: even though she was a law student, she danced and aspired to enter the world of art, but without relying on her father's surname.
Soon, in 1995, Era left for America, only to return to Albania to visit her parents. Era eventually met me, said a “half yes,” and finally came to the podcast – despite the tension of the days counting down in Tirana. Then the conversation flowed so naturally, with so much nostalgia and memories, about her parents, but we also talked about her life in America, which is one of those true success stories… that's how an email made this season's start, worthy.
