'The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs informs that from the Offices of the Hellenic State, until December 31, 2020, all Albanian passports will be accepted as valid documents, which exceed the validity period within 2020. This decision of the Greek government creates facilities for Albanian emigrants, who will be able to receive the necessary services in the Greek state, including the renewal of residence permits, social protection services, health and education '.

'Also, Albanian emigrants will not be asked for a pass in case of their travel from Greece to Albania'.

These developments come after the situation created in Kakavija, where thousands of Albanian emigrants were blocked in long queues waiting to cross the border. After five days, the situation normalized.
