Philip Morris International PMI Releases 2025 Annual Report: Real and Measurable

Philip Morris International (PMI) has released the results of its 2025 Annual Performance Report, titled “Change in Motion,” demonstrating tangible progress in the company’s business transformation and its ambition to create a smoke-free future.

According to the report, approximately 43.5 million adult users worldwide currently use PMI’s innovative smoke-free products, which are available in 106 markets. This segment generated $16.9 billion in net revenue, accounting for 41.5% of the company’s total annual revenue, clearly signaling a significant shift in the industry structure.

At the same time, PMI continues to operate globally through a network of more than 20,700 suppliers and over 84,900 employees. The company manages 50 manufacturing facilities in 31 countries, of which 21 are dedicated to the production of smoke-free products.
“For more than a decade, PMI has strived to lead the industry’s shift away from cigarettes, and this transformation goes beyond product innovation. Transformation is not a project with a predetermined deadline, but a continuous process of improvement, innovation and adaptation that keeps us relevant and sustainable in the market,” said Jacek Olczak, CEO of Philip Morris International.

The 2025 report also marks the conclusion of Roadmap 2025 by communicating the achievements for each objective introduced by the company in 2020, as well as the launch of a new strategic phase – Value Plan 2030+, which will guide the further journey towards sustainable growth.

During 2025, PMI further strengthened its approach to sustainability by defining six key priorities: consumers and the impact of products on health, circular economy, climate change, nature and biodiversity, the company’s workforce and employees across the value chain. These priorities are integrated into the company’s long-term strategy.

“Our plan clearly defines what we can control directly and what requires action and collaboration with other partners, establishing a strong foundation for effective impact. In this spirit, we present the Value Plan 2030+ as an invitation for dialogue, a platform for collaboration, and a roadmap for the next chapter – transforming sustainability into long-term business value,” said Jennifer Motles, Director of Sustainability at PMI.

An important aspect of PMI’s sustainable business approach is the ongoing implementation of Youth Access Prevention (YAP) programs, which aim to prevent minors from accessing nicotine products through educational and awareness-raising activities in the field. By the end of 2025, these programs had been implemented in all markets where the company operates (covering 98% of product volume) and exceeding the predetermined targets.
In Albania, the YAP program has been active for years. During 2025 alone, 100% of the direct and indirect sales network with which the company cooperates – more than 4,000 points of sale – was included in the program’s communications.

Sellers undergo annual training, while an important form of communication with adult consumers are also informative stickers placed at points of sale, which clearly emphasize the ban on the sale of nicotine products to minors.
With Value Plan 2030+, PMI defines the next phase of its strategy not as a final destination, but as a continuously evolving process, with a clear focus on creating a smoke-free future and delivering long-term value for society.
