Albanian soprano Ermonela Jaho has been honored by France with the title of “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” (Knight of Arts and Letters). This is one of the highest honors given by France to people with exceptional contributions to the arts.
Soprano Jaho reacted online with an emotional message, calling this recognition a great honor and emotion.
"Receiving the title of Knight of Arts and Letters today is a great emotion for me and an honor deeply dear to my heart, as France represents so much love for art, culture and human truth," wrote Ermonela Jaho.
The internationally renowned soprano further expressed her gratitude to the people who have accompanied her on her journey, especially agent Dominique Riber, for his continued trust and support, as well as to Jean-Philippe Thieally.
