Rama: After the fences between buildings, public spaces are registered as common

Prime Minister Edi Rama declared today that the new rule for the registration of public space will soon come into force, emphasizing that fences or unauthorized construction will no longer be allowed in the spaces between buildings.

He warned prosecutors and judges to be careful with these issues, underlining that to date many of them have exceeded their competences by giving rights to the occupiers.

"Every square meter around a private building, after it is sold to families or businesses, is no longer private property, but public space. There can be no fences or permits for private individuals. Just as you are a co-owner of the terraces and stairs, you are also a co-owner of the outdoor environment," said Rama.

The Prime Minister added that with this new measure, the state will guarantee cleanliness and safety in public spaces, prohibiting any attempt to occupy them.
