Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared details from the meeting with the Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi, describing it as an important moment for strengthening relations between Albania and Japan.
He emphasized the mutual interest in expanding cooperation in areas such as economy, technology, energy, defense, and tourism, and appreciated the joint support for international issues such as Ukraine.
Rama also extended an invitation for a visit to Albania next year, including participation in the NATO Summit and a bilateral meeting.

A special honor was the reception with a high state ceremony by the Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi, at a significant moment for the further strengthening of partnership relations between Albania and Japan.
Her attention and interest in Albania constitute an important assessment of the transformation and progress of our country, as well as of the great potential for cooperation between our two countries. This potential was clearly reflected in the shared will to expand the partnership in areas of strategic importance, such as the economy, technology, energy, defense and tourism.
Albania fully supports the Updated Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy as a vision that promotes peace, security, freedom of navigation, respect for international law, and cooperation among nations in a region of crucial importance for the future of the world. Albania and Japan also share the same unwavering stance in support of Ukraine and against Russian aggression as a challenge to the rules-based international order.
It was a special pleasure to extend to Prime Minister Takaichi the invitation to visit Albania next year, not only to participate in the NATO Summit that will take place in our country, but also for a bilateral meeting, with the conviction that the friendship and cooperation between Albania and Japan will continue to strengthen in the years to come.
