A global survey conducted by YouGov has ranked the most liked scents by people around the world for 2026. In first place is lavender with 85.6% of preferences, followed by vanilla with 81.2% and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee with 80.1%.
The most beloved scents also include the smell of rain, sea breeze, freshly cut grass, freshly washed clothes, and chocolate. The list also includes well-known scents such as rose, jasmine, freshly baked bread, cinnamon, and lemon.
The survey shows that people mainly prefer natural, fresh scents and those associated with positive memories and feelings of comfort.
