Tiziano Ferro talks about her ex-husband: He was a narcissist who damaged my

In an interview with Il Messaggero, Italian singer Tiziano Ferro spoke openly about the end of his marriage to Victor Allen and the impact this period had on his life and music.

"We used to swallow concrete before we slept," Ferro sings in the song "Sono un grande," which gives the title to his latest album. According to the artist, this line is a metaphor for a toxic relationship with his ex-husband, whom he married in 2019. The couple separated in 2023.

One of the new songs included in the "deluxe" version of the album, A Napoli, is dedicated to this very story. In one part of the song he sings: "Don't manipulate me anymore."

Asked about the meaning of these words, Ferro said:

“When you are around a narcissistic person, you experience a kind of mental self-harm. That was one of the reasons that forced me to leave. I wrote this song three years ago in Naples, at the beginning of the divorce process. It was the song that marked the beginning of the writing of the album, but I decided not to include it initially because I didn't want the record to talk about that. I needed to talk about the solution, before talking about the problem. Now I'm ready.”

When asked how much of this pain and bitterness will be reflected in his concerts, Ferro replied that very little from the latest album will be part of the repertoire, emphasizing that he wants to give more space to the music than to the wounds of the past.
