The National Folklore Festival of Gjirokastra 2023 opens

Gjirokastra, the museum of centuries-old traditions and culture, welcomes and in the following days, the return after 8 years of the National Folklore Festival under the symbolism of dancers holding hands, in the stone castle, decorated and enlivened tonight, as never before by colors, motifs, rhythms, songs and dances of all the provinces of Albania.
The National Folk Festival of Gjirokastra 2023, the event that brings together the beautiful colors of Albanian folklore, will be held for 8 nights in the castle of Gjirokastra on a stage open to all and will be accessible for free.
Prime Minister Edi Rama accompanied by his wife Linda Rama visited the Gjirokastra Castle this evening, transformed into the heart of the Festival, with many visitors, folk artists, artisans, as well as art lovers of all ages, gathered together to enjoy one of the biggest events of traditional Albanian music and dance, a beautiful exhibition of intangible cultural heritage.
