Giorgio Armani, who has died at the age of 91, left behind a fortune estimated at up to 12 billion euros and a powerful fashion empire. Without children, he had the freedom to decide for himself who would inherit it.
The main heirs are expected to be his sister Rosanna Armani (86), his nephews and nieces: Andrea Camerana (55), Silvana (69) and Roberta Armani (54). All of them are already part of the company's board of directors. Alongside them, the designer's partner and loyal collaborator, Leo Dell'Orco, will also play an important role.
But the fortune is not divided only through a will. Armani had been preparing a detailed plan for years: the Giorgio Armani Foundation. This institution will have a central role in protecting the brand and will ensure that the company remains independent, Italian and faithful to his vision, not being sold or broken up.
With a share system divided into different categories, the foundation and the family will jointly control the company, respecting the rules that "King Giorgio" himself had established: balanced financial management, reinvestment of profits, and preservation of the elegant and timeless Armani style.
