A shooting attack occurred on Tuesday at a high school in Siverek, Turkey. 16 people, including students, were injured in the attack. Sanliurfa Governor Hasan Sıldak announced that the attacker had taken his own life.
The incident occurred in the morning at the Anatolian Ahmet Koyuncu Vocational and Technical High School. An unidentified person entered the school with a shotgun and opened fire. Following reports from passersby, police and medical teams were sent to the scene.
"We have 16 injured. The attacker is a former student of our school, born in 2007. The attacker committed suicide. We evacuated the school. The incident is being investigated from all angles," the governor said.
Meanwhile, it was learned that some of the injured students jumped from windows to escape the armed attack, and security forces stated that most of the students in the school had been evacuated. The injured students were taken to hospitals after receiving first aid at the scene.
