The crisis is real. Airlines are canceling flights

The fuel crisis is hitting the airline industry hard, with German airline Lufthansa announcing the cancellation of around 20,000 short-haul flights through October.

The decision comes as part of a strategy to cope with the significant increase in kerosene costs, which according to the company has doubled, and in some cases even more.

The main cause is related to tensions in the Persian Gulf region and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important arteries for global oil transport.

This situation has led to an immediate increase in jet fuel prices, forcing airlines to review operations and cut flights to limit losses.

Experts warn that, if the crisis continues, passengers could face not only fewer flights but also higher ticket prices in the coming months.
