ALBtelecom subscribers successfully migrated to the powerful, high-quality network
As ONE Albania completes the last steps of the merger, the largest telecommunication company unified its network. In recent days, 450,000 customers from the former ALBtelecom network have been successfully migrated to the ONE network. This procedure was a unique and important technical operation, the first in the country.
"We proudly announce the successful completion of one of the most complex and historic processes in the Albanian telecommunications industry, the migration of ALBtelecom customers to the ONE network" - said Ilir Duka, Director of the Technology Group, in ONE Albania.
The main reason behind this migration was the unification of quality networks for all subscribers. Now, migrated subscribers get better quality services, including higher internet speeds, clearer voice calls and more reliable network in terms of coverage and capacity.
ONE Albania presents today the largest mobile network in Albania, with 1100 coverage stations throughout the country. This means that there are more transmission towers in a given area, which leads to better network coverage and better connectivity for mobile devices. Therefore, subscribers have stronger signal coverage and higher data transfer speeds.
Ilir Duka, Group Director of Technology at ONE company explained the latest initiative for higher quality: "While we are constantly expanding the capacity and coverage of our network in cities, villages and everywhere, we have also increased the Internet speed by 30% for our mobile subscribers, investing to enable 40% more broad-based frequencies in most urban and suburban areas”
During the last three years, the ONE Albania network has been transformed through large investments, making it the most modern network in the country. The Hungarian group 4iG, owner of ONE Albania, has confirmed future plans for investment and innovation, regarding fixed and mobile networks, including further steps towards 5G and IoT technologies.
As the last steps of the historic merger of the two pioneers of telecommunications such as ONE and ALBtelecom have been reached, the vision of ONE Albania remains to lead the information and communication technology market, in providing the most innovative solutions and services for Albanians and digitizing the country through innovation .
