The annual Copenhagen Light Festival marks the end of the Nordic winter darkness with the largest number of light fixtures in Europe.
The works displayed by artists from around the world address various topics such as the coronavirus pandemic and human impact on nature, with the works "Phenix" by French artist Francois Gauriaud, an 11-meter-tall bird that illuminates the sky accompanied by bird songs and " A Dozen Sun ”, a yellow globe made from recycled plastic.
Festival organizers expect to attract larger crowds than last year, when the pandemic limited people’s participation in the long-awaited event.
This year, the installations will be lit in the morning as well as after sunset to light the way for those going to work.
