Nearly two decades after the photo was taken, Lionel Messi has finally spoken out about the iconic image of him holding Lamine Yamali, then a baby, during a UNICEF charity photoshoot in Barcelona in 2007.
Speaking ahead of the World Cup final, Messi described the photo as "crazy" and said it was unbelievable that he and Yamali would now face off on football's biggest stage.
He praised the 19-year-old as one of the best players in the world and wished him success, but stressed that Argentina will do everything to stop him in the World Cup final.
