A jovial atmosphere accompanied the start of the working session at the G7 summit. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni spoke with several world leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa.

It all started when German Chancellor Friedrich Merz noticed Meloni's outfit and humorously said: "You're wearing a tie today!" The Prime Minister jokingly replied: "Consider me a warrior."

During the conversation, Meloni revealed that she had quit smoking a month ago, receiving congratulations from Ursula von der Leyen. Japanese politician Sanae Takaichi also revealed that she had recently given up smoking.

With humor, Meloni recalled their previous meeting, saying: "We smoked our last cigarettes together in Japan." The friendly atmosphere between the leaders attracted attention before the start of the official summit discussions.
