Bestselling author Isabel Allende has shared a candid reflection on the creative process, as she announced that she is ready to begin a new novel.

Even with decades of experience and dozens of successful books, she admits that emotions and insecurities are always present.

"Today is January 8th and I'm about to start another novel. Of course, I'm as nervous as ever. I've been writing for 44 years and I haven't gained a single ounce of self-confidence. Every year, on this date, I wonder if I'll manage to capture the story. If I do, the miracle of the creative process takes weeks to mature. Wish me luck!" Allende writes.

Her story proves that even the greatest authors face doubts every time they start a new story and that the creative process itself remains a "miracle" that never comes without emotions.
