A completely different version of the story alluded to in the media has been given by Prince Leka. According to him, Blerta did not come between his relationship with Elias, as they had been emotionally and physically separated for a long time. Prince Leka told how they slept in separate rooms and that before he even gave Blerta his first hug, when he had started to feel something for her, it was Elia who he spoke to.
Together, Prince Leka and his girlfriend Blerta Celibashi were the first guests of "Mirembrëma Yje" with Arbana Osmani.
"We have gone through, especially in the last 20 months, very different challenges. I have had good faith in the institutions of the Albanian state and I have never had the desire for that video to be released to the public. That is why I was wrong, that video should never have been released," said the Prince.
He clarified that the narratives about the relationship with Blerta, which alluded to betrayal, were untrue:
"We have had media and legal attacks from all sides. The narratives have been imposed, not real. There has never been any question of betrayal. The first person I told about my relationship, perhaps without even giving Blerta a hug, was Elia."
Prince Leka also spoke about the publication of the video where he and Elia appeared in moments of tension and explained that he had filmed it after his advisors had suggested doing so in such a case and that he had handed it over to the police, from where the video emerged.
"I turned on the camera because this was the advice of my advisors. It was the only way to ensure the reality of the event. Then, the fact that it has gone public has made me feel very bad. I feel betrayed by those people who have brought it out. I know that I had no friends at that moment," said Leka Zogu.
