Robin Williams' daughter: Please stop sending me videos of my father made

Zelda Williams, the daughter of actor Robin Williams, has reacted strongly to videos created with artificial intelligence that attempt to recreate her father's voice and image. Through a lengthy post on social media, she has called on people to stop sending these videos and understand that they are insulting to the memory of the actor and his family.

"Please stop sending me videos of my father's AI. Don't think I want to see them or understand them, because I don't and I won't. If you're trying to provoke me, I've seen worse. I'll block you and move on. But if you have any dignity, stop doing this, for him and for me. For everyone, even. It's stupid, a waste of time and energy, and trust me, it's not what he wants," she wrote.

Zelda sharply criticizes the way some users are exploiting public figures for content on TikTok and other networks:

“To see the legacy of real people reduced to 'it's more or less like that, so that's enough', only for someone else to produce disgusting content with them, is crazy. You're not creating art, you're making over-processed hotdogs from real people's lives, from the history of art and music, just to get a 'like.'”

Finally, she adds a strong criticism of the perception of AI as “the future”:

“For the sake of everything, stop calling it ‘the future.’ AI is not creating anything new, it’s just badly recycling and chewing up the past to be consumed again. It’s like being at the end of a ‘human centipede’ of content, while those at the top laugh, eat and profit.”

This reaction has sparked widespread debate over the use of artificial intelligence to recreate public figures after death and the ethical limits of digital "creativity".
