How much does the most expensive panettone in the world cost?

The most expensive panettone in the world, since the world has existed, is produced by a pastry shop in Carmagnola, a small municipality.

It is worth 700 thousand euros as it is completely covered with gold and diamonds.

Her destiny was not to end up in a jewelry store (perhaps Tiffany's), but at an Indian table.

Its creator is a pastry chef from Carmagnola of German origin, Dario Hartvig. Who was born in Turin and lives between Barcelona and the city on the border between the provinces of Turin and Cuneo, together with his wife Linda and his 16-year-old son Tommaso.

Dario started working as a pastry chef at the age of 14. In 1996 he moved to New York for six months, then decided to return to Italy and accept the offer to manage a pastry factory in Carmagnola. Which he transformed into a real dessert studio, full of aromas and culinary suggestions. It was here that the idea of Panettone Gioiello was born at a certain moment. "The first one was ordered from me by a rich Indian gentleman, who wanted me to prepare a sweet gift for his niece who was getting married," says the pastry chef.

The girl appreciated this specialty because she had studied in our country for a certain period.

“This is the reason for the rich customer's strange request: a single 5-kilogram piece of saffron and chocolate that I worked on for three whole days. And I spent an hour and a half exclusively on the gold leaf cover, adorned with a tiara of 23 carat white gold and diamonds."

"Some time later I was ordered by a Russian millionaire for a panettone worth 500 thousand euros.
