Jozefina Topalli on the IT report on corruption: It is not fought by those who

Since the registration as a party of the 'Movement for Change', Jozefina Topalli, the former number two of the Democratic Party is more active than ever in current political issues of the country. Commenting on the Transparency International report that talks about the high risk of corruption in Albania and the whole region, as well as the enrichment of politicians with corrupt affairs, Topalli writes that: 'corruption is not fought by those who have turned it into their means of enrichment of their families'. He has it with the three leaders: Rama, Basha, Meta!

In the note he published on Facebook, Topalli writes that the country needs change and uncorrupted leadership.

Read Topalli's status:

'Corruption is the fundamental factor that has impoverished the country, that has plunged the government into scandals, that has broken trust in the leadership of the three Parties and that has killed hope.
The fight against corruption is key to stopping the decline of the economy, the country's institutions and democracy. Corruption is not fought by those who have turned it into a means of enriching themselves and their families.

The country needs change, uncorrupted leadership.
IT-International Organization of Transparency (against corruption) ranks Albania as a country at high risk of corruption. The report at the same time notes that the Parliament of the last 4 years has not performed its duty to control the government.

According to IT, we are the place where:
“Politicians and their networks are controlling their country's affairs to profit from corruption with impunity.

There are many examples of state capture, when individuals and groups use corruption to design a country's policies, laws and economy solely for their own private interests. This allows the corrupt to retain their power, get rich from the state, and avoid punishment.
Ordinary citizens pay for this through the loss of livelihoods, poor public services, limited opportunities and losing faith in democracy as they see state institutions serving private interests.

Moreover, Transparency International notes that external oversight remains weak and finds that parliament fails to control the work of government regularly. Most defense procurements are single source and 'there are significant risks of corruption related to military operations'.
